The Juventus striker was linked with a stunning move to Tottenham last week, but he is now said to be talks over a switch to Old Trafford.
It is claimed Argentine international Dybala could be involved in a swap deal for Red Devils frontman Romelu Lukaku, and his agent is now in London for discussions .
United are interested in bringing in Dybala as his replacement, but the fact the Red Devils are not in the Champions League this season means he is not going to come cheap.
Speaking on talkSPORT host Jim White’s transfer round-up on Wednesday, Crook said: “It’s my understanding Dybala wants €10million-a-year.

“He would be effectively turning his back on Champions League football for 12 months, at least, by leaving Juventus for United.
“We’re being told Lukaku, who had his heart set on Inter Milan, has already agreed terms with Juventus to go the other way, he’s just desperate to get out of Old Trafford.
“But if United want Dybala, they’re going to have to pay big money.”
All eyes are on United’s executive vice chairman Ed Woodward with the clock ticking down to next Thursday’s 5pm transfer deadline.

And Crook is expecting a frantic final week for United, as Dybala, Leicester City defender Harry Maguire and Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes could all realistically still join the Premier League giants.
“It’s a big week ahead for Ed Woodward, who has been getting stick all summer long about the deals that haven’t got over the line,” he added.
“But there is still a realistic possibility that Maguire and Dybala might be coming in, and maybe Bruno Fernandes as well.
“United did distance themselves from that one last week, but sources in Portugal are saying it’s still close.
“United need a good window. They had a terrible season last year and if they’re going to reduce the gap on Manchester City and Liverpool they need players through the door.
“That’s why I think Maguire will surely get over the line before August 8.”
Meanwhile, Everton continue to be linked with a host of big-money deals as Marco Silva aims to strengthen his squad.
The club have been linked with huge deals for ex-Chelsea striker Diego Costa and Crystal Palace ace Wifried Zaha, and although they have come to nothing, the Toffees remain in the market for new additions.
According to Crook, the Blues are set to complete deals for 19-year-old Juventus striker Moise Kean and 23-year-old Mainz midfielder Jean-Philippe Gbamin.
“My understanding is that a deal for Kean will be completed, and they’ve also enquired about Southampton midfielder Mario Lemina because they have sold Idrissa Gueye to Paris Saint-Germain.
“But I’m being told from Germany that Jean-Philippe Gbamin is actually the player Everton are going to bring in.
“Therefore, Lemina will remain at Southampton as it stands. He seems to be on a lot of club’s lists, but he’s not top of any of them.”
