Edo local govt councils sack 2 vice chairmen
As the rift between Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo and the national chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Adams Oshiomhole, deepens, two local government councils' vice chairmen allegedly loyal to the latter have been sacked.
The vice chairmen who were sacked on Monday, July 8, are Philip Eguarojie and Godwin Eleduwa of Akoko-Edo and Orhionmwon local government areas of the state respectively.
The impeachment of Philip came after an ad-hoc committee submitted a report on an investigation into an allegation of misconduct against him. Councilors during plenary adopted the committee's report, The Nation reports.
