ExxonMobil contract staff’s wife regains freedom.
Mrs Adanma Kennedy, the wife of a contract staff with ExxonMobil, Effiong Kennedy, who was abducted in July has regained her freedom in Akwa Ibom State, a family source has said.
The source which pleaded not to be mentioned told our correspondent on Friday in Eket Local Government Area of the state that the husband had paid the sum of N.5million for her release.
Mrs. Kennedy was kidnapped on Sunday, July, 7,2019 around 8:15 p.m. in Eket Local Government Area of the state by six suspected kidnappers, who trailed her in a motorcycle to her residence at Liverpool Street in Eket LGA.
Meanwhile, the state police command said on Friday that it had arrested one of the notorious kidnappers in connection with the abduction of Mrs. Kennedy.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, Odiko MacDon in an interview in Eket Local Government Area of the state said Mrs Kennedy had regained freedom from the hands of her abductors and that one of them has been arrested and was now in police custody.
“There is one suspected notorious criminal arrested in connection with the kidnapped of one Mrs Adanma Kennedy somewhere in Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State
“The suspect is in detention at police headquarters, Ikot Akpan-Abia, Uyo.” he said.
He said the command had put in place security measures to apprehend other members of the gang.
