The Food Reserve Agency (FRA) has cleared payments owed to farmers in Luwingu and Lupososhi districts in the Northern Province.

Luwingu District Commissioner Patrick Chanda has disclosed this to the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) an interview today.

Mr Chanda said government has released over four million kwacha, to clear all outstanding payments owed to farmers who supplied maize to FRA in 2018.

And Mr Chanda has appealed to farmers situated in far flanked areas who have not received the payment due to lack of communication to quick visit the nearest bank and collect their money.

He further encouraged the farmers to utilize their hard earn money on enhancing their yields for the next market season.

Meanwhile Mr Chanda said that Luwingu and Lupososhi are expected to have a bumper harvest following the good rainfall being experienced in the area.

He also revealed that farmers in the two districts, received farming inputs on time, and are utilizing them accordingly.
