The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of instigating religious crisis in Taraba State.


The CUPP spokesman and national chairman of Action People’s Party (APP), Chief Ikenga Ugochinyere, said in a statement, yesterday, that the essence of instigating crisis in the state was to pave way for a state of emergency to be declared in the state.Ugochinyere said the APC was angry over its inability to clinch the governorship seat, which was won again by candidate of the PDP, Governor Darius Ishaku.


“The security agencies are not doing much, rather they are trying to undermine the governor. Insiders have also informed us that the acting Inspector-General of Police is planning to arrest the aide-de-camp to the governor, hence his invitation to the police headquarters, Abuja,” they alleged.Daily Trust reports that the APC in Taraba had also accused the PDP-led government of instigating violence in Jalingo that led to the killings of many of people.


The DSS had also revealed that it arrested a special assistant to Governor Ishaku in possession of many voters’ cards.
