P/Harcourt – No fewer than sixteen Liquefied natural gas (LNG) vessels are expected to berth in Onne Port Complex this week in Rivers State

Ten of the vessels would discharge imported cargo – containers, general cargo, drilling fluid and inballast, while six vessels would export 364,000 tons of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and Butane to other countries of the world.

The development was contained in a shipping position issued by the port.

The 360000 tons of LNG/Butane would be shipped by these following vessels – LNG Methane Allison Victoria (65000 ton), LNG Maran Gas Hector (70000 ton), LNG Bonny II (77000 ton), LPG Innovator (10000 ton of Butane), LNG Bayelsa (65000 ton) and LNG Lagos II (77000 ton).

These shipping agents – GACShip, Fountain and WAPS are having their hands full as they are ensuring that the six vessels berth conveniently for smooth loading.

Of the ten vessels coming into the country through the port with various cargoes, two – MT Althea and MT Amif would discharge 3000 ton and 15000 ton of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) respectively making it 18000 ton of AGO. Their shipping agents are Egerton and White Waters.

Besides, a total of 999.9 ton of drilling fluid would be discharged by MT Charlotte Theresa in the port and would be serviced by a shipping agent called Super Maritime.

Six ships would discharge containers and general cargo during the week. The vessels are- MV Kota Salamat (9300 ton of containers), MV HSL Porto (9606 ton of containers), MV HSL Porto (23037 ton of containers), MV Milan Trader (12350 ton of containers), MV Maersk Cuanza (22465 ton of containers) and MV Kota Bintang (1690 ton of general cargo). Their shipping agents are PIL and Maersk.

One vessel – MV Gargano – is inballast, and its shipping agent is Derrona.
