The outgoing governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi has said that that his administration has justified itself on good management of education in the state during his eight years in government.
The governor said his administration has spent about N61billion on education in the state, in the last eight years, saying the state education has been standardized for the dwellers.
Ajimobi spoke on Wednesday during the inauguration of Oba Akinbiyi Model School at Mokola, Ibadan, one of the model schools constructed by his administration.
Analyzing how the huge amount was spent on education, the governor said N46bn out of the figure was spent on all the state-owned tertiary institutions in the last seven years, while N15bn was committed to public secondary schools.
Meanwhile, the governor had earlier in the day sworn in 11 newly-appointed permanent secretaries, while he later inaugurated the newly-constructed Ijokodo-Apete Road, now named Ambassador Olu Saanu Road, as well as Challenge- Efunsetan Road named after the late governor Lam Adeshina.
