We will challenge for the title next season’: Lingard believes Solskjaer’s ‘back to basics’ approach can deliver Premier League glory to Manchester United
Jesse Lingard says Manchester United will challenge for the Premier League title next season, placing his support behind Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s ‘back to basics’ approach. United are unbeaten since Solskjaer was appointed caretaker manager, replacing Jose Mourinho in December, reining in league leaders Liverpool by five points. And although United admire Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino, Lingard has touted Solskjaer to bring back the glory days to Old Trafford if the Norwegian stays on. Solskjaer is due to return to Molde in May, but has talked himself up as a ‘perfect fit’ at United and Lingard, 26, leads a group of players impressed by his work.
