What should people avoid going into their old age?
If you don’t use it you loose it.
My Mom and Dad lived by this . Mom acquired cancer and died at 82. But Dad died at 99.5 and was waiting to play golf. My step mom died at 99.5 also.
I expect to live beyond 100. Dad drank 11 cups of coffee or more per day. I also like my coffee. lol.
Let no grass grow under your feet. Don’t just sit on your butt. Get up and do something. Anything. Just keep moving.
Join a YMCA and go swimming. Move your body. Aquire a hobby that requires you to getup and move around. Just keep moving.
I will be 75 soon. I fish, I wade in the river to fish. I also have a fishing boat. I roller skate, ice skate, play golf, not good but I play. Dance fast or slow, ride a motorcycle. I’m building an airplane in my shop. I’m a ham radio operator. I have 5 sixty foot towers in my yard that I still climb. I WILL NOT GIVE UP. I will not retire from life ever. I will die doing what I want to do.
Life is short, I’m not going to make it shorter by setting down and watching it go by.
Sure I have slowed down a bit. In the last 4 years I’ve had 3 operations, but that does not stop me from doing things I like to do. Sure I hurt some days, but I work through them. I love my hot tub for these times.
I eat anything I want. I cut grass, In the winter I work pushing snow with an end loader with a 16 foot snow bucket for many hours. I keep moving year around. I feel great, but not every day. So just keep moving and using your muscles.
Your heart is the best muscle you have. Keep using it. You need it, it needs you. Keep it healthy. And it will keep you going. I have had a pace maker for fifteen years. Good luck.
It does not hurt to have God in your life. So get up and move. Use what ever parts of your body you can or have left. It’s your life don’t just sit and watch life go by. I will not surrender my life.
What is something common that you see most people do wrong?
